Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Reporting to the Director of Nursing (DON), the LPN is responsible for providing care and treatment to clients and their families in various nursing situations under the direction and supervision of the DON and/or the licensed Medical Director. This is a full-time position. The hours will be 7PM - 7AM. Primary duties include: Providing nursing care to all clients through a variety of semi-skilled nursing responsibilities Providing data entry of nursing observations, treatments, and performed procedures into EMR software Maintaining care plans including identification of problems and follow through Providing feedback on all changes in clients' conditions to nurse and/or physician in charge Administering topical or sub-IM medications and completing proper documentation Providing completed nursing assessments as required Providing proper documentation for all obtained/administered labs, vital signs, and medication, charting appropriately Providing data entry of demographics and lab orders into computer. Label correctly and place in cooling unit Maintaining knowledge and proficiency in assessments performed for Detox patients (CIWA, CIWA-B, and COWS) Maintaining and performing temperature checks on cooling units Performing chart checks Assisting in maintaining orderly unit appearance and inventory Performing other tasks and duties as assigned by Nurse Manager or Medical Director Physical activity includes: Required to stand and walk for long periods of time Required to occasionally reach with hands and arms Required to frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and rarely lift the max of up to 75 lbs. Required specific vision abilities: Close vision Education, knowledge, competencies, and skills required include: Must be a graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program Must have a current license to practice nursing in the state of Louisiana Must have at least one (1) year of experience in a clinical setting Must have a current CPR certification Must be able to work independently and in a team environment Must be detail oriented and organized, with a natural passion to help people Must have two (2) years uninterrupted sobriety if in personal recovery Second Chances is an Equal Opportunity Company.
