JOB SUMMARY The Warehouse Operations Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient functionality of the warehouse shift. This includes optimal use of manpower, adherence to standard operating procedures, training and motivating the team, and fostering a safe and productive working environment. This role supervises material handlers, selectors, and partial-order pullers. RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee daily receiving processes on the dock and in the coolers, ensuring that preferred work methods are employed by all associates. Supervise operations on the dock and in coolers to ensure efficient workflow. Maintain positive associate relations through regular meetings and ongoing communication. Review, coach, and develop outbound associates to optimize performance. Monitor work processes and ensure adherence to company policies and safety requirements. Issue disciplinary actions when necessary. Interpret company policies for team members, enforce safety and security regulations, and conduct daily pre-shift meetings. Manage labor hours and consumable supplies while staying within budget. Prepare and manage work schedules to optimize productivity. Perform substitutions for items that are unavailable for selection. Communicate effectively with sales, purchasing, and inventory control departments. Conduct spot checks on orders to ensure accuracy and quality standards. Pull and double-check critical care orders for quality assurance and accuracy. Inspect material handling equipment daily for safe operation and coordinate necessary repairs with the maintenance department. QUALIFICATIONS Education High School diploma or equivalent required. Experience Minimum of 1 year experience in warehouse operations, particularly in shipping and receiving of perishable goods, or a combination of relevant education and industry experience. Professional Skills Proven ability to supervise, motivate, and train team members effectively. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate information clearly and effectively. Ability to reject inbound products that do not meet quality standards. Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures related to shipping and receiving are followed consistently. Enforce adherence to all safety policies and procedures in the warehouse.
