Receiving Clerk (Food Distribution) Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Job Summary: The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, unloading, and inspecting incoming food shipments to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with food safety standards. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product integrity and proper inventory control within a fast-paced distribution environment. Key Responsibilities: Receive and unload incoming food products, including refrigerated and frozen goods Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices for accuracy Inspect all products for quality, freshness, proper temperature, and signs of damage or contamination Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., FIFO, HACCP guidelines, temperature control) Record and report any discrepancies, shortages, or damaged goods promptly Properly label, date, and store products in designated dry, refrigerated, or frozen storage areas Maintain accurate receiving and inventory records in warehouse systems Assist with inventory counts, stock rotation (FIFO), and organization Keep receiving and storage areas clean, sanitary, and compliant with food safety standards Follow all company policies, OSHA guidelines, and food handling procedures Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent preferred Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, or food distribution preferred Knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, FIFO) is a plus Basic computer and data entry skills Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying temperatures (dry, refrigerated, freezer environments) Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods Strong communication and teamwork skills Bilingual in English & Spanish is a PLUS Work Environment: Warehouse and food distribution setting Exposure to cold storage areas (refrigerated and freezer) Use of equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts Fast-paced environment Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $18.00 - $20.00 Per Hour
