Locum - NP/PA - Trauma Surgery Atlantic City, NJ Join a dynamic hospital-based trauma team in Atlantic City, NJ, as a Locum Advanced Practice Provider (NP with RNFA or PA) and make a vital difference in emergency and surgical care. This rewarding opportunity offers flexible 12-hour shifts, comprehensive support, and the chance to work in a renowned Level II Trauma setting. Immediate start through October, providing essential cover while a permanent provider is sought. OverviewWe are seeking dedicated NP or PA trauma professionals to provide high-quality care at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center. In this role, you will support trauma alerts, surgical consultations, inpatient care, OR support, and rounding, ensuring patients receive prompt and expert treatment. Supervised closely by in-house physicians, this role plays a crucial part in a fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on patient safety and excellence in trauma care. Required Skills Active NP or PA license in New JerseyMinimum of 2 years experience in trauma, emergency medicine, or acute surgical careProficiency in trauma assessments, surgical procedures, and emergency interventionsAbility to perform procedures such as chest tube placement, central lines, arterial lines, and minor suturingEffective communication skills and teamwork-oriented attitudeAbility to work collaboratively under supervision in a hospital settingNice to Have Skills Experience with RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant) responsibilitiesFamiliarity with Cerner EMR systemPrior experience in Level II trauma facilitiesAbility to manage ventilation support (BiPAP/CPAP)Strong clinical judgment and adaptability in emergency situationsPreferred Education and Experience Master s degree or higher in Nursing or Physician Assistant studiesAt least 2 years relevant trauma or acute care experienceCertification in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) preferredOther Requirements Local candidates preferred (Mileage reimbursement only)No license eligibility or credentialing delays anticipated; existing license requiredWillingness to work scheduled weekends, nights, and varied shifts within the 12-hour windowValid DEA and BLS certification requiredThis position offers an hourly rate of $120.60, an excellent opportunity for experienced trauma providers seeking flexible, impactful work.
