We are seeking a highly motivated Locum – Nurse Practitioner specializing in General Medicine to provide vital assessments across Houston, TX. What You’ll Need: Valid Nurse Practitioner license in Texas or eligible for licensure Proven experience in general medicine, internal medicine, or family medicine Strong assessment skills, including interview-based exams and physical evaluations Ability to perform compensation and pension exams, including range of motion and muscle strength testing Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with Veterans Attention to detail and timely report submission Nice to Have Skills: Prior experience with compensation and pension evaluations Background in orthopedic surgery or other specialties related to general medicine Familiarity with veteran healthcare procedures and assessments Certification in relevant medical specialties or additional licensure in related fields Preferred Education and Experience: Master's degree or higher in Nursing (DNP, MSN) Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a clinical or assessment setting Experience performing non-treatment related examinations or assessments for federal agencies Other Requirements: Must reside within close proximity to Houston, TX (within 50 miles preferred) Willingness to work on a PRN (as-needed) basis, including half-day (4-hour) and full-day (8-hour) shifts Ability to complete exams, submit reports promptly, and perform follow-up administrative work No travel reimbursements provided outside of local arrangements; travel included in the rate Certification in licensure and compliance with all state and federal laws Compensation & Benefits: Highly competitive hourly pay rate of $402.00 Flat rates: $600 for half-day (up to 4 hours) assessments; $1200 for full-day (5 hours) assessments One-time bonus of $650 upon completing required training and initial exams Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits, paid sick leave, and licensure/travel reimbursements when applicable Dedicated support from a 24/7 team committed to your success Opportunities for ongoing work and professional growth This is your chance to join a team that values your skills and dedication, while making a meaningful difference in veterans’ lives.
