From high-temperature tooling boards, core material or custom fabricated assemblies, expect quality, uniformity, and stability of materials with General Plastics.From the oceans' depths to deep space, we shape great ideas into reality!JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARYCNC Machinist will operate computer-controlled tools to machine or process parts, tools, or other work pieces primarily of polyurethane foam but other materials as well. Reads and interprets blueprints, work orders, and related documentation to determine methods and sequence of operations, in addition to, dimensional and finish specifications.Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixturesMount, install, align, secure tools, attachments, fixtures, and work pieces on machines, using hand tools and precision measuring instrumentsAbility to effectively and efficiently setup and breakdown machines, removing finished work pieces, tooling changes, or work piece placement, according to required machining sequencesRead, interpret and convey instructions, verbally and in written form Requirements: Education, Skills and CertificationsMust have a high school diploma or GEDMust be able to receive and interpret instructions and directions from supervisors and peersMust demonstrate good judgment to perform the job correctly and safelyExperience with GD and TMust be process minded with experience leading and participating in Continuous Improvement initiativesHave a minimum of 2 years of CNC experiencePreferred Applicants will also possess the following:Experience operating HAAS and CMS machinesStrong GD and T knowledgeProcess control mindedExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPhysical RequirementsStanding 8 hours per dayFinger dexterity - the ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objectsArm-hand steadiness - the ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving your arm or while holding your arm and hand in one positionAbility to work with or around chemical solventsSHIFTThis position requires that you are available for either day or swing shift. We offer a $1.50 shift premium for anyone on swing shift.
