Job Title: Industrial Technician Department: Maintenance Location: Centrum Valley Farms Job Type: Full time Job Summary As an Industrial Technician I, you would be responsible for the maintenance and repair of various mechanical, electrical, and conveying processing systems/types of industrial machines and supporting equipment. Will perform preventative and predictive maintenance. Will perform periodic testing, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs. Perform all jobs safely, efficiently, and effectively. This position supports the daily achievement of production goals through ensuring the proper functionality of our machines. Essential Job FunctionsUnder general supervision, repair and perform basic maintenance on industrial machinery (i.e., automation, mechanical, electrical, conveying systems, etc.) using manufactures recommendations and company SOPs to ensure equipment is performing safely and to required specificationsIdentify root cause of basic mechanical and electrical issues and performs essential repairs that may include welding, fabricating parts, plumbing, or replacing defective components. Works with appropriate personnel and management if further attention is required to resolve the issueDiagnosing and conducting overall conveyor maintenance on schedule as required Perform preventive maintenance on schedule for processing machines and supporting equipmentAssemble, install, test, and maintain basic electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixturesConnect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, and other components Troubleshooting and replace or repair drive chains, gears, belts, pullies, shafts, rollers, electric motors, and gear boxesResponsible for maintaining tools, keeping them clean and in good working conditions. Keep work area organized, clean and free to move in Works in a safe manner to protect themselves and co-workersIdentify unsafe conditions and corrects. Work with management to resolve safety concernsWhen working in processing follows all compliance, food safety, and biosecurity rules, policies, and procedures. Reports any violations to a supervisorOther duties as assignedRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience0-2 years of general work experience with at least 1 year of hands-on experience as a maintenance technician.Knowledge of electrical, electrical testing devices, pneumatic and hydraulic systems Ability to work overtime, weekends and holiday hours as required based on the production demandMust be able to lift, carry, push, or pull 75+lbs Reading and comprehension skills necessary to read, understand and follow SOP's and other written instructions or work details Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers and management. Sound work ethic, honesty, team oriented and moral character Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment Basic computer skills (outlook, excel, etc)Ability to work overtime, weekends and holiday hours as required based on production demandPreferred QualificationsAdditional trade or technical school education for maintenance, mechanical, welding, HVAC, or electricalAbility to read blueprints for mechanical and electrical drawings.At least 2+ years of experience in industrial, commercial, or facility systems maintenanceMaintenance experience in the food, poultry or agriculture industry a plusExperience with safety/equipment such as LOTO, harnesses, lanyards, hoists, and PPE a plus Work EnvironmentThe Industrial Technician position operates in a dynamic, fast-paced industrial setting. This role requires adaptability to various environmental conditions, including exposure to noise, temperature fluctuations, and potentially wet or slippery surfaces. Workers must be comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and around moving machinery. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory and may include safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots, and task-specific gear. The position involves a mix of indoor and outdoor work, with potential exposure to various weather conditions during outdoor maintenance tasks. Adherence to strict safety protocols, including Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures, is critical. This environment requires a strong focus on safety, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Exposure to industrial chemicals, lubricants, and cleaning agents is common, necessitating proper handling and safety precautions.
