Automation TechnicianDEFINITION: Diagnose, adjust, repair, electrical equipment used in automation material handling systems.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: Work within a team of Automation co-workers to maintain automatic material handling systems. Operate, test, and inspect equipment to diagnose issues. Log and keep service records. Write and debug effective and safe control programs, which meet end user requirements and company expectations. Debugging of electrical and mechanical systems as needed for operation of all machines. Maintain quality of equipment shipped. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY: Always follow OSHA safety rules. Safety Awareness, ability to identify and correct conditions that affect safety for yourself and others. Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings. Technical aptitude, Controls - VFD, PLCs, HMI, Allen Bradley or similar. Robotics, Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatics. Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information. Detail Oriented, Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly. Possesses qualities such as productivity, dependability, resourcefulness, efficiency, and professionalism. Time Management, ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word. Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely. Ability to use work order software programs, ERP software, Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Excel and Word. Perform work at customer's location to repair equipment. Able to operate company vehicle. Must maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all DOT regulations pertaining to our company. Travel could be up to of 60% QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Hold Class C or higher driver license and maintain a clean driving record. Knowledge of electrical practices. Practices a strong work ethic. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: An Associate degree in Electrical or Robotic Technology. 4+ years electrical experience preferred.
