About the JobAssembly Mechanic - 1st & 2nd Shift.Senior Assembly Mechanic - Komar/Maren Engineering.Summary:Starting Rate: $21.00 - $25.00/Hour.Full Time.Benefits: 10 Vacation Days (Paid Time Off), 9 Holidays, Attendance Bonus, 401K with company match, Medical, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance.About Komar/Maren:Komar/Maren Engineering is an industry-leading recycling baler manufacturer located in South Holland, Illinois. Since 1962, Maren Balers and Shredders has manufactured the world's best balers and shredders. Our balers handle high volumes of material with low labor inputs creating high quality and quantity recycled materials.We are seeking self-motivated individuals with solid mechanical skills and a desire to learn electrical and hydraulic connections. You will be working from prints, drawings, and instructions to perform builds. Prior experience with hydraulic, electrical, and MIG/stick welding is a definite plus. A strong work ethic and a passion to learn the field inside and out is absolutely required. This is not a repetitive function; every machine requires free thinking and extreme diligence. We design and manufacture our machinery from the ground up, and this position provides a great opportunity to strengthen your personal skills and knowledge with an ever-growing company.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:Quality, productivity, etc.Participate in supervisor meetings as required.Expertise in low and high-voltage point-to-point wire connections per supplied electrical schematic.Proficient in Hydraulic systems, hydraulic layout, and operation.Assemble parts to complete a machine using hand and power tools.Perform efficient and quality MIG welding of various metal thicknesses.Have complete understanding of all products that are built, with limited guidance and support.Use a variety of handheld and precision measuring tools.Reading blueprints & schematics for mechanical builds.Accurately read a tape measure and use precision measuring tools.Position parts & sub-assemblies by using templates or reading measurements.Manufacture hydraulic hoses.Test equipment to make sure it is operating correctly.Set up hydraulic system pressures.Certified to operate a forklift and overhead crane.Rig machinery when needed.Willing to travel up to 25%.Travel reimbursement.Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Ability to perform work using electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic schematics.Experience with electrical assembly and troubleshooting.Experience with hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.Experience with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic machine assembly.Requires limited supervision to perform tasks assigned.Possess good communication skills & an ability to adapt to changing situations.Experienced MIG welder a plus.Education and/or Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or relative experience and/or training for job classification.Language Skills:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Ability to write simple correspondence.Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills:Depending on job classification, may require basic math and/or tape measure reading.Depending on job classification, may require the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Reasoning Ability:Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
