In addition, we are the largest pump service organization in the upper Midwest. Electric Pump is comprised of eight locations in seven states with approximately 140 employees. Our offices have a friendly, laid-back environment.Founded in 1973, Pumpcon manufactures custom control systems and prefabricated pump stations for Municipal and Industrial sector for water and wastewater applications. They also manufacture pump protection devices to monitor seal failure, motor overtemperature, and bearing temperature conditions. Electric Pump acquired Pumpcon in April 2004.Website: Job SummaryThe Project Manager will lead cross-functional manufacturing projects from concept through execution, leveraging a strong background in production management to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with operational goals. This role bridges engineering, operations, supply chain, and leadership to drive efficiency, capacity growth, and continuous improvement within the manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate has hands-on manufacturing experience, understands productions floor realities, and can translate strategic objectives into executable project plans.Key ResponsibilitiesProject ManagementPlan, execute, and see to completion manufacturing-related projects including equipment installations, line expansions, process improvements, facility upgrades, and new product introductionsDevelop detailed project scopes, timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation plansTrack project milestones, costs, and resources; provide regular status updates to leadershipManage change control and ensure alignment with operational prioritiesProduction & Operations IntegrationCollaborate closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain teamsEnsure projects minimize disruption to ongoing production and support throughput, quality, and safety goalsApply production management experience to proactively identify constraints, bottlenecks, and risksDrive standardization, waste reduction, and efficiency gains across manufacturing processesAnalyze KPIs and production data to inform project decisions and prioritizationSafety, Quality & ComplianceEnsure all projects comply with company safety standards, OSHA requirements, and regulatory guidelinesPromote a strong safety culture during project executionEnsure quality standards are built into project design and implementationLeadership & CommunicationServe as the primary point of contact for assigned projectsCoordinate internal teams and external vendors, contractors, and equipment suppliersFacilitate project meetings and communicate clearly with stakeholders at all levelsCompetenciesStrong project planning and organizational skillsPractical, hands-on understanding of manufacturing operationsExcellent communication and stakeholder management operationsAbility to lead cross-functional teams without direct authorityData-driven decision-making and problem-solving skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project tracking toolsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environmentPrior experience as a Production Manager, Manufacturing Supervisor, or similar operations leadership roleDemonstrated experience managing capital or operational projects in a manufacturing facilityStrong understanding of production scheduling, capacity planning, and manufacturing workflowsPreferred QualificationsProject Management Certification (PMP, CAPM, or equivalent)Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certificationExperience with ERP/MRP systemsExperience managing contractors and capital equipment installationsWork EnvironmentManufacturing facility with regular presence on the production floorMay require occasional off-shift or weekend work during critical project phases (with paid overtime) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)On-time and on-budget project deliveryMinimal production downtime related to project executionSafety performance during project activitiesSuccessful operational handoff and achievement of projected ROIBenefits:Health insurance401(k) with company matchingDental insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insuranceWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
