Job DescriptionAbout the OpportunityAn established structural engineering firm in Southeast Florida is seeking a qualified Structural Inspector to support building restoration and threshold inspection projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of structural restoration and new construction projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.The ideal candidate will have experience in structural inspections, knowledge of the Florida Building Code, and strong technical and communication skills.Minimum QualificationsCandidates must meet at least one of the following:Graduation from a four-year engineering program in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering;Professional degree in Architecture;Registration as a Building Inspector or General Contractor;Four (4) years of Threshold Building inspection training on non-threshold buildings performed under the supervision of a Special Inspector who was in responsible charge of the trainee's work.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringEIT certificationPE, RA, BN, CGC, or Building Inspector licenseExperience in concrete restoration projectsExperience with Threshold Building inspectionsKey ResponsibilitiesPerform special inspections on restoration and new construction projectsConduct inspections of swing stages and scaffolding (training provided as needed)Assist during the Construction Administration phase, including:Review of shop drawingsSubmittalsRFIsField observationsAttend project meetings with clients and design professionalsManage multiple projects and ensure timely executionPrepare clear and detailed inspection reportsRequirementsRequired Skills & CompetenciesKnowledge of the Florida Building Code (FBC)Familiarity with structural standards such as ASCE, AISC, and ACIStrong technical writing and communication skillsExcellent organizational and time-management abilitiesAbility to work independently and collaborativelyComfortable working in field conditions, including heights and outdoor environmentsWhat This Role OffersExposure to diverse structural restoration and inspection projectsProfessional growth opportunitiesCollaborative and supportive team environmentCompetitive compensation based on experience and qualifications
