Airfield Maintenance Worker is distinguished from Airfield Maintenance Supervisor in that the former does not supervise assigned staff but performs routine airfield maintenance duties, whereas the latter supervises assigned staff and oversees daily maintenance operations activities.Essential Functions:The following duties are normal for this position. Other duties may be required and assigned.Utilizes hand and power tools to maintain airfield runways, taxiway entrances, light lanes, and parking lots.Repairs and maintains equipment.Performs preventative maintenance within the airport, including replacing filters, cleaning fans, and checking and repairing refrigerator leaks.Performs runway, taxiway, and ramp maintenance, including maintaining and repairing Runway End Identifier Lights (REIL).Communicates with air traffic control technicians via two-way radio while working around moving aircraft.Maintains and troubleshoots the medium and high intensities of the airfield navigational light system.Additional Functions:Performs other related duties as required.Performance Aptitudes:Data Utilization: Requires the ability to determine, calculate, tabulate, or summarize data/information, following a prescribed plan requiring the exercise of some judgment.
