What Success Looks Like In This Job The Education Supervisor is responsible for managing, organizing, coordinating, and directing theessential functions of assigned sites. This role ensures the consistent implementation of high-qualityearly childhood education services in compliance with state requirements, program policies, rules,and regulations. The Education Supervisor provides teachers, teacher assistants, and classroom aideswith ongoing observation, feedback, coaching, mentoring, and supervision to supportdevelopmentally appropriate teaching practices and continuous professional growth. Examples of Duties for Success• Oversee assigned site(s) compliance and staff implementation of Head Start PerformanceStandards, childcare licensing requirements, the Early Learning Outcomes Framework, and allprogram policies and procedures, including coaching, corrective action, and performanceaccountability as needed.• The Education Supervisor in collaboration with and under the direction of the EducationManager is responsible for managing, organizing, coordinating, and directing the essentialfunctions of assigned sites.• Lead the use of data and reporting systems by analyzing and interpreting information frominternal systems and external platforms to support program operations, compliance, and guidecontinuous quality improvement.• Observe, monitor, and follow up with education staff using multiple assessment andobservation tools to identify needs for coaching, mentoring, technical assistance, andprofessional development.• Provide ongoing coaching and reflective supervision to support staff professional growth,instructional quality, and effective classroom management.• Demonstrate knowledge of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Plans;support staff in planning developmentally appropriate activities and ensuring individualizedinstruction for all children.• Oversee and support the implementation of curricula, assessment platforms, and instructionalpractices, including Creative Curriculum, Incredible Years, Zoo Phonics, and Teaching StrategiesGOLD, ensuring lesson planning, classroom implementation, curriculum fidelity, and alignmentwith program goals, assessment requirements, and embedded CLASS and TPOT indicators.• Oversee positive discipline practices are consistently implemented in all classrooms, andsupervision of children is always maintained as the highest priority.• Provide supervisory oversight of assigned site(s) to ensure classrooms, facilities, and operationsmeet health, safety, and licensing requirements, including review and documentation ofrequired safety checks and drills.• Collaborate with program leadership and cross-functional teams to support staff performanceand program effectiveness for children and families.• Oversee classroom routines, including family-style meals, to ensure alignment with the bestdevelopmental practices and medical and nutritional requirements.• Lead and participate in required meetings, training(s), and professional development activitiesto ensure consistent implementation of education services.• Ensure compliance with professional development requirements, including requiredcompetencies and certifications for the position.• Oversee staffing coverage and teacher-child ratios in accordance with state licensingrequirements across all Head Start sites.• Ensure timely completion of reports and effective communication with leadership and respondto concerns and inquiries professionally and promptly.• Foster a positive, respectful, and professional work environment that attracts, retains, andmotivates staff to effectively serve children and families.• Accept temporary work assignments within Adams County as needed to support staffing needs,center flexibility, or role coverage.• Always maintain confidentiality and adhere to the program's employee standards of conduct. Qualifications for Success• Supervisory experience and demonstrated knowledge of early childhood education, childdevelopment theory, and Head Start program operations, services, and activities.• Knowledge of and ability to implement early childhood curricula and consistently apply positivediscipline practices.• Ability to provide effective training, coaching, mentoring, and technical assistance to staff andparents regarding educational programs and issues.• Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and a professional, positiveattitude and appearance.• Ability to establish, maintain, and promote a respectful, collaborative work environment andopen, honest, and professional communication that supports staff retention and high-qualityservices for children and families.• Demonstrate skills in record keeping, report writing, and clear, concise oral and writtencommunication, including proper English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.• Demonstrate proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications andprogram-related software.• Demonstrate alignment with County norms and values, with a strong commitment to serviceexcellence and exceeding customer service expectations.
