It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.The Loss Prevention Analyst is responsible for protecting company assets, reducing shrink, and ensuring the safety of personnel and property across all locations. This role identifies, investigates, and mitigates risks related to theft, fraud, and operational loss through data analysis, surveillance, audits, and collaboration with internal teams and law enforcement.Key ResponsibilitiesLoss Prevention, Risk Mitigation & Shrink ReductionAnalyze data, trends, and exception reports (e.g., refunds, voids, POS activity) to identify potential or actual loss areas.Develop, implement, and support strategies to reduce shrink, mitigate risk, and improve operational controls.Conduct loss prevention audits across retail, inventory, fuel, and cash-handling operations.Identify risks and recommend corrective actions to minimize financial and operational losses.Investigations & Asset ProtectionIdentify, investigate, and document internal and external theft, fraud, policy violations, and suspicious activity.Review surveillance footage, conduct undercover floor surveillance, and interview employees and customers as needed.Gather, preserve, and document evidence to support investigations and disciplinary or legal action.Represent the company in court proceedings and collaborate with law enforcement and legal teams when required.Monitoring, Surveillance & TechnologyOperate and monitor CCTV, alarms, EAS, and exception-based reporting systems to detect threats and variances.Inspect, audit, and maintain security devices and systems to ensure proper functionality.Investigate inventory, cash, and operational variances using analytics and reporting tools.Training, Collaboration & SafetyProvide training and guidance to store personnel on loss prevention policies, procedures, and best practices.Collaborate with Store Management, District Management, Operations, Employee Relations, and cross-functional teams to resolve loss prevention issues.Professionally manage and de-escalate potentially hostile or unsafe situations.Reinforce compliance with company security, safety, and operational policies.Reporting & CompliancePrepare detailed, accurate, and timely loss prevention, audit, and incident reports.Present findings, trends, and recommendations to management on a regular basis.Maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.Stay current on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to loss prevention and risk management.Required Skills and QualificationsEducationHigh School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferredBachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Criminal Justice, Business, or a related field preferredExperience3+ years of experience in loss prevention, retail security, risk management, investigations, or data analysis preferredKnowledge & SkillsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and investigative skillsKnowledge of retail operations, loss prevention strategies, and industry best practicesGeneral understanding of criminal laws related to theft, fraud, trespassing, and vandalismProficiency in Microsoft Excel, exception reporting systems (e.g., SAP), and other data analysis toolsExperience with CCTV, surveillance systems, and security technologyExcellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and testimonyAbility to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and perform under pressureHigh level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detailAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining confidentialityAvailability & Work EnvironmentFlexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidaysWork may involve standing, walking, undercover surveillance, or monitoring from a control roomExposure to retail, warehouse, and corporate environments with moderate noise levelsPhysical & Licensing RequirementsAbility to lift-up to 50 lbs. occasionally and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periodsMust be able to obtain required federal, state, and local licenses or permitsReasonable accommodation may be providedIf you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!
