Legal Collections AssistantMobile, ALM-F 8:00a-5:00pFull-time | On-site Job Description:As a Legal Collections Specialist, you will manage medical lien accounts and related legal filings from placement through resolution. This role includes lien filing, bankruptcy filing support, estate filing coordination, insurance billing follow-up, and consistent professional communication with attorneys and debtors. You will work closely with legal representatives, insurance carriers, and internal teams to ensure accurate documentation, compliance, and timely account resolution.The ideal candidate is deadline-driven, detail-oriented, and comfortable handling legally sensitive accounts in a structured, compliance-focused environment. Key Responsibilities:Manage medical lien accounts from placement through resolutionPrepare, file, and track medical liens, bankruptcy filings, and estate-related documentationPerform insurance billing follow-up related to lien and legal accountsCommunicate professionally via telephone and written correspondence with attorneys, insurance carriers, and debtorsMonitor deadlines and follow up to support timely account resolutionResearch account balances, legal documentation, and supporting records as neededAccurately document all account activity in accordance with HIPAA, FDCPA, and company compliance standardsIdentify and escalate complex, sensitive, or legally significant issues to leadershipParticipate in ongoing training and process improvement initiativesPerform additional duties as business needs require Qualifications & Experience:High school diploma or equivalent (required)Experience with medical liens, legal collections, bankruptcy, estate filings, or attorney-managed accounts (preferred)Knowledge of medical billing and insurance processes (preferred)Experience in Attorney communicationsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to manage multiple accounts and meet strict deadlinesProficient computer and typing skillsProven reliability, professionalism, and ability to work independentlyAbility to pass a criminal background checkReliable transportationBilingual welcomed Benefits:IRA with company matchingHealth insuranceDental insurancePaid time offPaid training with in-depth instruction on compliance and internal systems About Snelling:Although Snelling has been known across the nation since 1951, our Mobile office is a locally owned and operated, award winning branch leveraging nearly 70 years of proven performance.Our job is to match exceptional people with exceptional opportunities.
