The Dispatcher operates a complex communication system for Splish Splash; responds to emergency and administrative calls and dispatches public safety and public service personnel and equipment. This position is responsible for directing in-park communication calls, in-park radio traffic, and emergency communication coordination.We are currently looking for a:Splish Splash DispatcherRoles & Responsibilities:General Communication:Operates a radio console and paging system receives and transmits radio messages broadcasts pertinent information as required.Receives and transmit park transmissions via Two-Way RadiosOperates a telephone console receives and relays messages directs requests for assistance for security, law enforcement, and EMS to the appropriate agency prioritizes calls for service and dispatches in an appropriate order.Maintains a complete log of telephone and radio calls received and transmitted via a computerized dispatching system.Inputs data into the computerized dispatching system to produce information for mandated and management reports enters information into the computer performs tests of emergency communications equipment.Retrieves online data and paper file information from a variety of sources and relays information to the appropriate destination.Receives and directs messages, inquiries, and information requests from the public to the appropriate source.Performs administrative duties as needed, using a variety of office equipment that includes PC, Windows software, email, faxes, word processing software, copiers, time clocks, paper shredders, and all other software or databases required for reporting or record maintenance.Follow standard operating procedures for the park location.All other duties assigned by leadership.Pay Rate: $19.50Emergency Services:Contact local law enforcement personnel when circumstances warrant.Report and dispatch on security incidents and threatsOversees and report on security surveillanceMaintains and review security records periodically report on trends, anomalies, and concernsMaintains accurate and professional communications with emergency responders during emergencies.Assists with developing incident reports for emergencies.Education and Experience:High School diploma, GED, or equivalent Equivalent work experience will also be considered1+ year of previous experience as a dispatcher, highly desiredLanguage:Ability to read, write, and speak fluent EnglishSpanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with NY Child Labor LawsAbility to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysMust have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shiftAbility to address multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environmentAbility to effectively and accurately communicate with external first responders and emergency personnelAbility to operate a variety of electronic equipment, such as cameras, two-way radios, walkie-talkies, and/or personal computersMust possess excellent observation, interviewing, listening, and note-taking skillsMust have the ability to safeguard confidential park informationMust have the ability to always remain alert and vigilantMust be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, SharePoint, and OutlookMust possess effective interpersonal skills needed to tactfully deal with otherpeople (both public and employees) and handle tense situations in a calm and professional mannerAbility to read and comprehend fine print on documents and computerized screensAbility to understand and carry out verbal and written instructionsMust possess strong attention to detail needed for accurate data entry, report writing, and verbal communicationPhysical Requirements:Ability to remain sedentary for extended periods of time throughout the entirety of the shiftFrequent sedentary motion, while sitting and utilizing computer, cameras, or communication equipmentAbility to stand or walk long distances throughout the park, when neededAbility to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shouldersAbility to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 30 pounds or moreAbility to see details of objects that are more than a few feet awayWorking Conditions:This role will be predominantly based in an office setting with some exposure to all other indoor and outdoor park environmentsFast-paced environment with constantly shifting priorities and challengesSubject to constant repetitive motionSubject to frequent interruptions and requests that may require reprioritization of activitiesTeam member benefits:Working at Splish Splash is about making people happy!
