The Shack Retreat and Conference Center is a campus ministry of Grace Adventures Ministries. Because of the nature of our Christian program; Christian belief, character, and practice are essential requirements of employment positions.SUMMARY OF POSITION:The 3rd Shift Guest Services role supports the overall ministry of The Shack Christian Retreat and Conference Center by creating a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all guests. By doing so, this person is reflecting the mission and values of the ministry. Primary responsibilities include responding to defined emergencies, performing laundry and housekeeping tasks, and assisting with facility security. The ideal candidate will have a servant's heart, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.ASSUMPTIONS:This person must have general knowledge of all operating activities on the campus.This position involves real-time problem solving to support physical / relational safety and security of the guests and the campus.This position involves multi-tasking across several departments; guest services, housekeeping and facilities maintenance.The person will communicate accurately and provide feedback / updates in a timely manner.This position is an important contact point for guests and is responsible for representing the heart of the ministry with a servant heart, a pleasant conversational style and a professional manner. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Security / Night AuditPerform Nightly Security Report based on walking / inspecting the campus buildings and groundsEmergency ResponseEvaluate / respond to potential emergencies, coordinate with department managers and/or ministries director, or local authoritiesHousekeepingMaintain a standard of excellence in regard to the care and cleanliness of common spacesMaintain linens and laundry of the campusGuest ServicesAnswer / resolve all after hour urgent phone requestsAdditional responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor(s)AUTHORITY:This person will have the authority to represent the mission and vision of The Shack Christian Retreat and Conference Center.This person will have the authority to manage their week in order to maximize the effectiveness of their areas of responsibility.HOUSING: Not ProvidedTIME DISTRIBUTION: This position will work as part of the Guest Services Team.RESPONSIBLE TO: Guest Services ManagerGrace Adventures Ministries is an At-Will employer, which is defined as: At the will of either the employee or the employer, termination can occur at any time. Common consideration is expected on either part consisting of a minimum two-week notice under normal circumstances.RequirementsQUALIFICATIONS:A testimony and lifestyle that gives evidence of a true experience of salvation by grace in Jesus ChristAn attitude of excellence in workmanshipA desire to learn new skillsHigh school diploma or GED; Associate Degree preferredTwo years' experience minimum in an office/ministry settingAbility to be flexible and adjust quickly and effectively due to a people oriented organizationAbility to solve complex problems and communicate solutions effectively to diverse audiencesHave the physical ability to walk and implement various physical tasks over a 141 acre campus.
