The Controller will be responsible for the overall financial and accounting tasks for the company including oversight of a small, but high achieving team. Job Responsibilities: Maintains and enforces a documented system of accounting policies and proceduresManage outsourced functionsOversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectivesOversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, especially their control systems, transaction-processing operations, and policies and proceduresEnsure that accounts payable are paid in a timely mannerEnsure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payableEnsure that accounts receivable are collected promptlyProcess payroll in a timely mannerEnsure that periodic bank reconciliations are completedEnsure that required debt payments are made on a timely basisMaintain the chart of accountsMaintain an orderly accounting filing systemMaintain a system of controls over accounting transactionsIssue timely and complete financial statementsCoordinate the preparation of the corporate annual reportRecommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operationsCalculate and issue financial and operating metricsManage the production of the annual budget and forecastsCalculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to managementProvide for a system of management cost reportsProvide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiationsCoordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual auditMonitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenantsComply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filingsJob Qualifications:Possess Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience10 years of progressive responsibilitiesSupervisory and leadership experience desirable (will manage a team of 2)Working knowledge of information systems components and structureAdvanced Excel skills and general Office applications.Experience with ERP system management preferredExperience with financial reporting Must be capable of working both independently and collaborativelyMust approach work with a customer service oriented perspective Possess excellent verbal and written communication skillsHave prior experience with process improvement and process automation
