Salyersville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center - POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: ACTIVITY ASSISTANTDEPARTMENT: ACTIVITIES CLASSIFICATION: NON-EXEMPTREPORTS TO: ACTIVITIES DIRECTOR POSITION PURPOSE:Assist the Activity Director with daily resident activity program. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate stimulating activities programming.• Create a strong and active volunteer program.• Communicate regularly with resident families and the entire care team.• Prepare and review monthly newsletter and activities calendar.• Lead group activities.• Report and document on resident’s progress.• Visits with residents on a one-on-one basis as directed.• Evaluate and reassess activity interventions based on the interdisciplinary plan of care andmake revisions as appropriate.• Ensure documentation meets compliance with regulatory standards.• Reports to the Activity Director on residents’ responses and/or progress to specificapproaches utilized and maintains appropriate documentation.• Effectively manages the care of assigned patients using knowledge, skills, judgment, anddecision-making skills for the specific area. Effectively carries out the Activities role asassigned.• Perform additional duties as assigned.EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:At least one year of long-term care or assisted living experience or equivalent combination ofexperience and education. Ability to produce stimulating programs. Strong communication andcomputer skills are required.
