Kraton Polymers, located in Belpre, OH is seeking experienced Maintenance Instrument Electrician (IE). This position requires a candidate that is able to thrive in a challenging chemical plant environment and is looking to advance and grow with our Company. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing maintenance on process and production equipment throughout the facility. The Instrument Electrician (IE) Technician is responsible for safely maintaining, repairing, and/or replacing the physical equipment in the plant, correctly, and efficiently. IE Technicians install, troubleshoot, service and perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment. They also, install, service, test and calibrate various other electronic equipment.This job is on a 12 hour rotating shift.Key ResponsibilitiesRequires installation, repair and maintenance of all instrumentation & equipment used in process controls, analyzing systems, valves/actuators, and electrical systemsDismantles, cleans, replaces parts, assembles and calibrates pneumatic and electronic instrumentsDetermines causes for malfunctioning instruments and takes appropriate action to correct troubleReads and interprets electrical blueprints, schematics, P&ID and loop drawingsPerforms preventive maintenance on instrumentation & equipmentWorking as part of a team but would routinely perform work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy and safety, while performing your dutiesAdheres to all safety policies and proceduresParticipates in plant-wide safety, housekeeping and continuous improvement processesEnsuring safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installationsKeeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation using SAP.Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work areaEnsure correct and safe operation of equipment and machineryConduct work in a safe manner including safe operation of machinery and equipmentInstalling stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power toolsPerforming other related duties as assignedRequired SkillsAbility to maintain health, safety, and environmental standards as a personal performance core valueProficient computer & PLC knowledgeProficient mechanical knowledge and abilityPhysical capability, willingness, and ability to work in a team environmentGood interpersonal and influential skillsWillingness and availability to work overtime and extra scheduled shifts as requiredAbility to work safely and effectively with under minimal supervisionEffective organizational, time management, and communication skillsSelf-starting skillsWorking knowledge of safety standardsHighly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills enabling effectiveness in a diverse work environmentPhysical ability to lift up to 50 pounds - ability to pass a physical assessment test.Education, Certifications & Licenses Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance - chemical plant preferred High school diploma or GEDThe statements above are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees assigned to this classification.
