Maintenance MechanicA maintenance mechanic ensures the operational efficiency of machinery, facilities, and equipment by performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical and hydraulic systems, conducting repairs, installing new equipment, and documenting work. They often handle mechanical equipment, welding, and building upkeep while adhering to safety regulations. Responsibilities and DutiesPreventive Maintenance: Scheduled servicing of machines to ensure they run smoothly, including lubrication and part replacement.Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnosing malfunctions and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.Facility Maintenance: Performing repairs on building systems, including all mechanical components.Installation & Fabrication: Installing parts and performing welding or machine shop tasks.Documentation: Recording maintenance activities and inventorying supplies.Safety Compliance: Adhering to OSHA and company safety guidelines.Skills and QualificationsTechnical Skills: Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.Technical Knowledge: Understanding of mechanical equipment.Physical Ability: Ability to lift heavy, in some cases over 50 lbs., and climb/bend to perform repairs.Problem-Solving: Strong diagnostic skills for troubleshooting and repairing equipment.Communication: Ability to read blueprints/diagrams and communicate with team members.High school diploma or GED.Technical training or apprenticeship in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or related trade.Prior experience in manufacturing or facility maintenance role.Brown & Root Industrial Services is an equal opportunity employer.
