Employees progress through a structured wage schedule outlined in the collective bargaining agreement. Pay increases are tied to training completion and job level. Shift Differentials: available for 2nd and 3rd shift Additional earnings opportunities include overtime pay in accordance with state law. This is a physically active role in a heavy industrial environment requiring teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to safety procedures. Key Responsibilities * Operate steel production equipment and machinery safely and efficiently * Load, unload, and transport steel materials (coils, bars, sheets, structural components) * Perform quality inspections using measuring devices and tools * Follow production schedules, work instructions, and safety procedures * Assist with machine setup, changeovers, and basic preventative maintenance * Maintain a clean and organized work area * Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet daily production goals * Collaborate with all levels on 5S projects throughout the plant Qualifications * High school diploma or GED preferred * Prior manufacturing or industrial experience preferred, but not required * Willingness to complete company-paid training programs * Strong work ethic and commitment to workplace safety * Ability to work assigned shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed Physical Requirements * Lift up to 50 lbs regularly * Stand and move for extended periods * Work in a loud industrial environment - hot in the summer and cold in the winter * Wear required PPE at all times Universal Stainless is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
