Heavy Equipment MechanicLocation: Brookings, ORDepartment: Truck ShopJob Type: Full-TimeSouth Coast Lumber Company is seeking a dependable and experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This role is essential for maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment to ensure the efficiency and safety of our operations.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose, maintain, and repair heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other machinery.Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system issues across various types of equipment.Operate vehicles and equipment for testing and troubleshooting purposes.Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.Perform preventative maintenance to reduce downtime and ensure equipment longevity.Accurately determine and procure necessary parts and supplies to complete maintenance tasks.Maintain a clean, organized work environment and ensure safety protocols are followed.Complete all required maintenance records and paperwork.Follow company safety protocols, including proper PPE use.Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and industry standards.Contribute to a safe and efficient work environment.Work independently or as part of the maintenance team to meet operational needs.Provide mentorship and support to fellow team members as needed.Communicate effectively with supervisors and other departments.Assist with other tasks as needed to support the team and maintain smooth operations.Qualifications2-5 years of relevant experience as a heavy equipment mechanic (preferred).Class A CDL license preferred (for truck-related duties).Ability to troubleshoot and repair heavy machinery, trucks, trailers, and forklifts.Basic welding skills (preferred).Basic computer skills for diagnostics and record-keeping.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently or as part of a team.Must provide own tools.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.Schedule & CompensationShift: SwingPay: Competitive, based on qualifications and experienceOvertime and weekend availability as neededFull benefits package, including:Medical, Dental, VisionCompany-sponsored Health Care Center401(k) with Company MatchingLife InsurancePaid Time Off (Vacation & Holiday Pay)Apply Today!If you're a skilled mechanic looking for a hands-on role with a stable company, we encourage you to apply.
