Description Summary of Description: The Intern will provide support to a department or function. Responsibilities may include working on special projects; conducting research; telephone support; providing customer service; running reports; entering data; sorting documents; and operating standard office equipment. Duties: * Researches, analyzes, and documents solutions in an independent and timely manner. * Collaborates to create documents and/or programs. * Prepares and assists with presentations. * Participates in team meetings and brainstorming sessions. * Shadows employees and managers to gain professional experience. * Files documents alphabetically, numerically, or by other prescribed methods in established filing systems. * Prepares, reviews, and/or processes a variety of correspondence, logs, information, paperwork, forms, and/or other related information in assigned area of responsibility. * Runs standard reports in assigned area of responsibility. * Routine administrative tasks. * Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D); and currently enrolled as a student at an accredited college or university pursuing a degree. License Requirements: * Valid Driver's License as per State law or requirement Specific Skills: * Use computers and related software applications; * Operate standard office equipment; * Maintain records and files; * Data entry; * Use proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling; * Provide customer service; * Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interact with coworkers, supervisor, the public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction; * Ability to count or measure. Physical Requirements: * Ability to walk up to one mile on industrial plant and construction sites outdoors at any time of the year. * Ability to work in protective clothing which may elevate body temperatures by several degrees Fahrenheit for periods of up to 15 minutes without a break. * Ability to use multi-level stair towers and rung ladders unassisted. * Ability to hear safety alarms and signals while wearing hearing protection. * Ability to sit at desk and operate computer for extended periods of time. * Ability to stand, use hands and fingers, grip, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk and hear. * Ability to see with visual acuity and distinguish between colors. * Ability to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver's license. * Ability to lift and carry 15 lbs. on a regular basis is required and at times lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required.
