General Summary: The Career Specialist II serves as a key resource within Employment& Training, assisting citizens in accessing educational and vocational opportunities. This position is responsible for processing applications for clients seeking financial assistance to attend vocational institutions. Provide program guidance to team members. Works effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. By providing support services and career planning, the Career Specialist II helps promote workforce development and long- term career success for clients. Also, provides career guidance, monitors participant progress and ensures requirements are met according to Tribal and P. L. 102- 477 guidelines. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Receive, review, and process applications for tribal members seeking financial assistance to attend vocational institutions. Verify eligibility by reviewing documentation, residency, and tribal enrollment status in compliance with program and funding requirements. Develop individualized case plans that outline training goals, support services, and career pathways tailored to each participant' s needs. Provide career guidance to help participants to identify vocational programs that align with their skills, interests, and employment goals. Collaborate with vocational institutions, training providers, and community partners to coordinate services and ensure program alignment. Monitor participant progress by maintaining regular contact, reviewing training outcomes, and assisting with barriers to completion. Maintain accurate and timely case files, documentation, and reports in accordance with tribal, federal, and departmental standards. Ensure compliance with program policies, Public Law 102- 477 requirements, and other applicable regulations. Assist participants in accessing supportive services such as transportation, supplies, or other resources to promote training success. Track participant outcomes, including program completion, credential attainment, and job placement, to support reporting and evaluation. Administers and interprets appropriate career assessment instruments to clients. Support departmental goals by participating in staff ineetings, training, and professional development opportunities. Serve as a liaison for clients and other agencies pertaining to career development. Provides technical training to the Career Specialists. Mastery of all of aspects of being a Career Specialist. Guides the Career Specialists in all aspects of being a Career Specialist. Provides guidance and answers questions that a Career Specialist may have. Provides guidance on selection of academic programs and career planning. Counsels' individuals on the development of resumes and cover letters. Identifies various web sites, job banks, organizations, books and other publications related to career management. Make referrals for vocational counseling or other referrals as needed. Assist with improving educational and skill competencies. Counsel individuals to help them understand and overcome personal, social or behavioral problems affecting their education or vocational situations. Assist with the development of programs that will contribute to occupational development, upward mobility development of new careers and opportunities for non- traditional employment. Performing day- to- day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork. Establish relationship with other service providers to aid program participants. Identifies various websites, job bank, organizations, books, and other publications related to career management. Attend meetings, educational conferences and training workshops yearly to stay up- to-date on career or workforce trends and professional development. Be able to multi- task. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements: Associate Degree or equivalent work experience. Preferred Requirements: Bachelor Degree with previous experience working with Native American clients. Valid Oklahoma Driver' s License required?
