Inpatient Psychiatrist (Locum Tenens) New Jersey Location: New Jersey Start Date: ASAP (credentialing required) Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM Call: Yes Position Overview: A well-supported behavioral health program in New Jersey is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Psychiatrist for a locum tenens opportunity combining inpatient psychiatry with occasional consultation-liaison exposure. This role offers a collaborative environment with strong clinical support and a structured inpatient setting. Clinical Responsibilities: Provide inpatient psychiatric care including: Patient evaluations Treatment planning and medication management Ongoing care and discharge coordination Manage a range of complex psychiatric conditions Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes Occasionally support consultation-liaison services within the hospital Practice Environment: Structured inpatient setting with shared physician coverage Work alongside: Advanced Practice Providers Fellows Nursing and therapy teams Social work and care coordination Collaborative team-based model (not solo coverage) Patient Volume: Approximately 1214 patients per day Requirements: Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry Active New Jersey license preferred (or ability to obtain) Why This Opportunity: Consistent weekday schedule Collaborative, team-driven environment Exposure to both inpatient and consultation psychiatry Strong clinical and administrative support structure Opportunity to work with complex and diverse patient populations
