The Grants Manager leads and executes the strategy, planning, and operational systems for grants and institutional fundraising at American Bible Society (ABS). This role supports and scales revenue growth from foundations, corporations, and institutional partners by driving a proactive grants pipeline, strengthening internal processes, and ensuring high-quality submissions, reporting, and stewardship. The Grants Manager will partner with Development leadership, program teams, and marketing to align institutional fundraising with ABS's mission and revenue goals.Minimum Spiritual and Personal Commitment:Demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ. Demonstrate alignment with the vision, mission, and values of American Bible Society.Key Responsibilities:Strategic Grants LeadershipDevelop and implement strategic plans for institutional fundraising that align with ABS ministry priorities and revenue targets.Build and maintain a robust institutional grants pipeline, identifying high-potential prospects and tracking opportunities.Support Development leadership with revenue forecasting, trend analysis, and strategic insights for institutional support.Proposal & Submission ManagementLead the complete lifecycle of grants and proposals - concept development, writing, review, budgeting, submission, and follow-up.Collaborate with Programs, Finance, and Communications teams to gather impact data, narratives, and reporting materials.Ensure proposals articulate ministry impact, outcomes, and alignment with funder interests clearly and compellingly.Operations, Compliance & TrackingEstablish and maintain systems to track deadlines, reporting requirements, contract terms, and communications with institutional funders.Ensure compliance with funder expectations and contractual requirements, including interim and final reports.Maintain accurate records in CRM and grants tracking tools.Data, Analytics & Performance ReportingCreate and manage dashboards, reports, and tools to monitor pipeline and performance against goals.Provide regular reports to Development leadership on institutional giving trends, wins, and risks.Analyze grant outcomes and partner feedback to inform ongoing fundraising strategy.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with ministry and program teams to align funding requests with program priorities.Partner with Marketing and Communications to develop compelling case materials, impact summaries, and supporting collateral.Support stewardship and cultivation efforts for institutional donors, ensuring strong relationships and long-term engagement.Process Improvement & Capacity BuildingIdentify opportunities to enhance grants processes, templates, systems, and workflows to increase efficiency and quality.Facilitate training and best practices for staff involved in grants development and reporting.Qualifications:Education: Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, business, communications, or a related field, or equivalent combination of relevant experience and demonstrated grant success.Experience: A minimum of 5 years experience in grant writing or institutional fundraising. Demonstrated success securing foundation and/or corporate grants, including strategy and execution. Technical Skills: Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and grants tracking tools.
