Position Type: Secretarial/ClericalDate Posted: 4/1/2026Location: Oak Grove Elementary SchoolDate Available: 07/01/2026Closing Date: 04/09/2026Job Title: Financial Administrative Assistant I/School BookkeeperReports to: PrincipalReceives Guidance From: Business Office AdministrationOvertime Status: Compliant with position, salary and FLSA regulationsJob Purpose:A financial administrative assistant to support the overall operations of the school's operating budget and to help manage and maintain the federal money allotted to the school if applicable.Duties and Responsibilities:Assist with school purchasing duties. Requisitions for purchases; review and submit invoices for payment; process requisitions and publish purchase orders as needed and review monthly purchase order reports and budgetsTeacher procurement cards - Combine rosters and merge into master list; maintain master list; mail merge rosters to create teacher agreement forms; distribute cards to teachers and collect cards at year end. Maintain all records for audit and coordinate with the host bank to troubleshoot card problems; report lost or stolen cards.District travel card - Receive hotel confirmations; complete credit card authorization forms; maintain receipts and statements on file.PTO/Booster Clubs - District contact and maintain records. Issues guidelines; approve fundraising forms. Reminds parent organizations of due dates and receives/reviews quarterly financial information as required by school board policy.Complete field trip, purchasing, donation, and other requisitionsMaintain positive relationship with auditors providing information requested during annual auditsPerform various related central office duties as requestedMaintain confidentialityRegular, dependable, in person attendance is an essential function of this positionPerform such other and not specifically enumerated duties as may be requested by the Board of Education, superintendent, administrator, director or established by district policyRead, understand, and abide by Employee Conduct Policy, all other district, state and federal policies, and procedures and protocols as established by LCSD and the Mississippi Educator Code of ConductApplicants need to have the ability to:understand the operations and functions of the school systemprepare complete and accurate accounting records,interpret rules, regulations, and policies and use mature judgment in making decisions,establish and maintain effective and professional working relationshipsQualifications:High school diploma required, Bachelor's Degree in accounting (or any related business degree) preferred; school business or governmental related experience preferredPhysical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
