Must have CBSPD or CRCST certification and 3+ years of sterile processing experience in an acute care or Level I trauma hospital. Join a high-volume central sterile (SPD) team supporting multiple hospitals across the health system. Job Details Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,080 – $1,160 Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) — Columbus sterile processing jobs / Ohio sterile processing jobs Contract Duration: 13 weeks (May 18, 2026 – August 17, 2026) Shift: Night shift, 5x8-hour (11:00 PM – 7:30 AM), Monday–Friday; occasional scheduled holidays Hours per Week: 40 Employment Type: Travel Contract – Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) Setting: Level I trauma facility / acute care hospital (on-site) Required Qualifications / Certifications Minimum 3 years of sterile processing experience in a busy, acute care hospital or trauma facility (Level I or II preferred) Certification required: CBSPD or CRCST (HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM) Hands-on experience with decontamination, assembly, sterilization (STERRAD and steam sterilization), high-level disinfection (HLD) for scopes, and sterile storage Experience using Censitrac tracking system (instrument tracking / surgical instrument tracking) Preferred: Epic experience and prior OR liaison duties at a trauma center Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only) Ability to float to other reprocessing locations across the health system Two professional references required (at least one from management or formal leadership) Key Responsibilities — Central Sterile / SPD Tech Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment across service lines, including trauma, loaner instruments, and peel packaging Operate and monitor sterilization processes (STERRAD, steam sterilizers) and perform HLD for endoscopes and scopes Serve as OR liaison to ensure timely delivery and tracking of sterilized instrumentation to operating rooms and procedural areas Manage instrument trays and standardize tray sets across the health system to improve efficiency Use Censitrac instrument tracking system for inventory control and traceability Float between multiple reprocessing sites as needed, including Ross Heart Hospital, University Hospital, James Cancer Hospital, Same Day Surgery, East campus, and ambulatory locations Maintain strict compliance with infection prevention standards, manufacturer instructions, and hospital policies Why Join This Travel Sterile Processing Role Work at a Level I trauma center in Columbus — gain high-volume, complex case experience Competitive weekly pay for travel sterile processing jobs in Ohio Opportunity to work with advanced sterilization technologies (STERRAD) and enterprise tracking systems (Censitrac, Epic) Supportive team environment and exposure to multiple specialty service lines Ready to take the next step in your sterile processing career?
