Warehouse Lead/Route Specialist The Warehouse Lead supports daily warehouse operations by coordinating workflow, guiding team members, and ensuring orders are processed accurately and on time. This role is hands-on and highly visible on the floor, balancing leadership responsibilities with operational tasks such as picking, shipping, inventory control, and occasional customer deliveries. This position is designed as a development path into the Warehouse Manager role. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, dependable, and ready to take on increasing responsibility as the facility grows. Responsibilities Lead warehouse associates in daily tasks including picking, packing, receiving, shipping, and material movement. Assign work, monitor productivity, and ensure orders meet accuracy and quality standards. Train new team members on equipment, processes, and safety procedures. Serve as the point of contact on the floor for questions, problem-solving, and workflow adjustments. Support the Warehouse Manager with scheduling, reporting, and operational planning. Safely deliver packages or materials to customers as needed using a company vehicle. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally. Maintain delivery logs, verify signatures, and ensure accurate documentation. Assist with cycle counts, inventory accuracy, and proper stock rotation. Identify discrepancies and work with leadership to resolve issues. Ensure products are stored, labeled, and handled according to company standards. Promote a clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse environment. Enforce safety rules, PPE requirements, and equipment procedures. Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or process gaps promptly. Essential Skills Proficiency in route sales, shipping and receiving, inventory tracking, and daily operations. Experience with RF scanners, unloading, order pulling, and loading. Strong leadership skills and ability to lead a team in daily warehouse tasks. Additional Skills & Qualifications Good soft skills. Work Environment This role operates within a smaller warehouse facility, working closely with 2-3 other team members. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Smyrna, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
