Collections Specialist Location: Lakewood, CO (Onsite) Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00am-5:00pm Salary: $48,000-$50,000 annually A respected organization in Lakewood is seeking a Collections Specialist to join its onsite financial services team. The Collections Specialist will play a key role in managing account balances, performing collections, and supporting clients with professionalism and care. Experience in student accounts is a plus but not required. Position Overview The Collections Specialist will be responsible for managing account activity, reviewing ledgers, and ensuring payments are applied accurately. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to explain account activity clearly, and a customer-focused mindset when communicating with clients. The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating account systems, handling payment discussions professionally, and working onsite in a structured, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities Manage account balances and perform soft collections outreach Communicate with clients via phone and in person regarding billing inquiries Review, analyze, and explain account ledgers Post and reconcile various types of payments accurately Coordinate payment arrangements and assist clients in resolving balances Research discrepancies and correct posting issues as needed Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of account activity Qualifications 3-4 years of experience in accounts or collections Strong understanding of account ledgers and billing reconciliation Experience handling soft collections in a service-driven environment Knowledge of federal, military, or state payment processes is a plus Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP, is a plus Experience with systems such as Campus Nexus Anthology, CampusVue, or Banner is preferred Strong communication and customer service skills Why Join This Collections Specialist role offers a stable Monday-Friday schedule, a collaborative onsite work environment, and the opportunity to make a direct impact by helping clients resolve balances and navigate their finances with clarity and confidence. #INFEB2026 EB-1887053142
