ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES We are partnering with our most innovative nuclear energy client and they are seeking a Test Operations Technician to support research and development activities involving experimental systems, prototype hardware, and advanced test infrastructure. This is an onsite position at their laboratory facility located in Everett. Support laboratory testing and experimental campaigns through hands-on work with the design, assembly, installation, operation, and maintenance of complex test systems. This includes high-temperature flow loops, pressure vessels, piping networks, instrumentation, and control systems. This position requires strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to safely operate and maintain complex experimental equipment. This is a hands-on opportunity to directly contribute to the development and testing of advanced engineering systems within a multidisciplinary R&D setting. Operate and support experimental systems, test equipment, and laboratory infrastructure for R&D activities Monitor and adjust operating conditions including temperature, pressure, flow, and system performance to ensure safe operation Start, stop, and configure mechanical and electrical equipment during test operations Support fabrication, assembly, installation, and modification of experimental systems and components Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, motors, heaters, sensors, and instrumentation Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control system issues and support repairs Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation Maintain clean, organized, and safe laboratory environments Follow all safety procedures, lab protocols, and quality requirements ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical training in mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation fields preferred 2+ years of experience in industrial operations, lab testing, maintenance, or technical support (military/technical training may substitute) Strong knowledge of pumps, valves, motors, piping systems, and industrial equipment Experience working with electrical systems up to 480 VAC and diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters) Understanding of temperature, pressure, and flow instrumentation Ability to read and interpret schematics, P&IDs, and engineering drawings Strong mechanical troubleshooting and hands-on technical skills Proficiency with hand tools and basic shop equipment Ability to document work and record technical data accurately Basic computer skills (data entry, spreadsheets, monitoring software) Experience in radioactive or controlled environments is a plus WHY AVERRO?
