The Director of the TRICARE Health Plan for the client oversees one of the largest health systems in the United States, serving 9.6 million beneficiaries through military hospitals and clinics globally. This senior position reports directly to the Assistant Director of Healthcare Administration and is based in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of War for Health Affairs. A primary responsibility is establishing the strategic direction for the TRICARE Health Plan to ensure efficient integration between military healthcare and private sector partners, while also managing significant budgetary allocations.The role involves directing the development and execution of TRICARE policies, managing healthcare benefits, reimbursement systems, and ensuring compliance with healthcare program requirements. A substantial part of the job is overseeing contract cost management, maintaining efficient operations, and planning for future healthcare needs, including the implementation of new business practices and technologies. The Director provides executive direction for long-range planning and management goals, ensures compliance with confidentiality and security requirements, and manages the quality assurance program to guarantee standardized, high-quality care within the TRICARE program.
