Our client, a growing organization within the logistics and transportation sector is seeking an experienced Traffic Coordinator to support full container load (FCL) operations at its South Florida headquarters. This role is responsible for coordinating shipments, managing documentation, and working closely with carriers, customers, and internal teams to ensure efficient and compliant transportation processes.The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple shipments simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and strong communication across stakeholders. This position plays a key role in supporting operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and schedule full container load (FCL) shipments to ensure timely pickup and deliveryCommunicate with carriers, freight forwarders, and customers to confirm shipment details and resolve issuesPrepare, review, and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading and required customs paperworkTrack shipments throughout the transportation cycle and provide regular status updatesCollaborate with internal teams such as operations, sales, and customer service to address discrepancies and optimize shipment flowEnsure compliance with applicable transportation regulations and internal policiesProactively identify potential delays or issues and escalate as appropriateMaintain accurate shipment records, costs, and carrier performance data for reporting and analysisMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent (associate degree or higher preferred)At least 2 years of experience in logistics, freight coordination, or a related fieldWorking knowledge of full container load (FCL) shipping processes and terminologyProficiency with transportation management systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office applicationsStrong organizational, time management, and communication skillsPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related fieldExperience in ocean freight or international shipping environmentsFamiliarity with customs regulations and import/export complianceAbility to communicate in Spanish or another language commonly used in the shipping industryLogistics or freight-forwarding certifications (e.g., Certified Logistics Associate or similar)Skills & CompetenciesAbility to manage multiple shipments and deadlines with accuracyClear and professional communication with internal and external stakeholdersStrong problem-solving skills to address delays or disruptionsAttention to detail in documentation, compliance, and reportingAdaptability in a fast-paced logistics environmentAscendo is a certified minority owned staffing firm, and we welcome and celebrate diversity.
