The Logistics Specialist plays a vital role in helping to ensure all inventory arrives at the right time, place, quantity, and condition across the company networks. Compensation Information: $75,000 annually plus bonus Responsibilities: * Serve as direct contact to all distribution centers (DCs) and Markets for support with freight, truck loading, and receiving functions. * Serve as the primary point of contact for all freight escalations. * Responsible for daily tracking and issue resolution in a variety of business areas (purchase orders, receiving, accounts payable, and more). * Responsible for fielding and resolving escalations surrounding freight, transportation, and transportation/vendor partners issues. * Responsible for the review of freight invoices. * Responsible for ensuring Empire's vendors are complying and performing under the established processes and expectations. * Responsible for auditing of vendors' shipments for accuracy. * Responsible for ensuring Initial Purchase orders (IPOs) are strategically planned with the Merchandising and Demand Planning stakeholders. * Attain full working knowledge of various warehouse and logistics systems and train employees as needed. * Drive the consistent use of process and procedures for all warehouse and logistics/freight functions. * Actively identify improvement areas to the Supply Chain leadership team. * Travel up to 20%. Note that Physical Inventories, people turnover, system roll outs, and other major initiatives may require more travel during any given period. Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. * 5+ years' experience demonstrating progressive responsibility in roles focused inventory or freight management * Some applied experience with continuous improvement methodologies, such as "lean management", six sigma, etc. in a service environment. * Experience in a geographically-distributed organization preferred. * Experience with data visualization tools or packages. * The ability to coach and teach on SOPs, best practices, systems use, and other content. * Demonstrated ability to become an expert in various systems and processes. * Proficient computer skills (MS Word, Excel and Outlook). * Strong expertise in both D365 system operations, workspaces, and tiles.
