**Job Description** + Loads, unloads, drives, positions and fastens materials, assemblies and subassemblies on/off trucks or railroad cars for shipping/receiving, using mobile tractors, gantry crane or slave vehicle. + Receives instructions and work orders from Process Supervisor, Assistant Process Supervisor, Lead Person and Self-Directed Work Team. + Refers to drawings, sketches, manuals, books, charts, military specifications and process sheets. + Handles materials to and from work area within the department, by using material handling equipment (i.e. mobile tractors, gantry crane and slave vehicle) as required. + Loads stowage equipment (O.V.E. and BII) to conform to vehicle specifications. Hooks, unhooks and guides crane operator in lifting and positioning loads on or off railroad cars and trucks. Fastens loads on trucks or railroad cars according to specifications to prevent shifting of loads in transit. + Performs checks on equipment to maintain efficient and safe operations and report any deficiencies. + Preserves engines using atomizer and auxiliary generator to force preservative into engine. + Ensures specifications performance of product, process and workmanship and documents findings on personal computers or other data acquisition devices as required. + Keeps work area safe and clean. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + High School Diploma or GED required + Experience with heavy equipment or driving a fork lift truck required **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Ability to read work instructions + Knowledge of for truck operating procedures + Ability to load and unload vehicles from trailer and rail cars + Ability to tow vehicles with a tractor (CAT) + Freight Shipping experience with loading/unloading vehicles into rail cars and semi-trucks + Ability to use various mobile equipment + Some mechanical aptitude preferred + Ability to work in an outside environment + Ability to use various hand tools + Ability to work at various heights + Use of gantry cranes if needed + Ability to work at various heights. **Pay Information** This position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which will determine your wages.
