Main responsibilities: Safeway Tracy CA Distribution Center has an opening for a Transportation Supervisor. Responsibilities include and are not limited to, * Communicating to the work force ways to promote a safe work environment. * Implement cost-saving measures through working closely with drivers' dispatchers and software vendors. * Managing equipment and manpower requirements for daily operational needs * Monitoring employees daily work assignments and spearheading safety initiatives for the department. We are looking for candidates who possess the following: * 2-year college degree, Bachelors preferred or 2 to 5 years of proven supervisory experience * Strong knowledge of Department of Transportation laws and regulations * Knowledge of HOS and Dispatching routing systems, MOBI and Prospero experience are a plus * Familiar with a union work environment and time and attendance procedures and requirements * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Possess transportation experience including loading of trailers and store delivery procedures. * Experience driving diesel-powered tractors and a current CDL helpful.
