Provide advanced respiratory care and patient support at a specialized critical illness and rehabilitation center in Grand Rapids, MI. This travel opportunity is designed for a Registered Respiratory Therapist skilled in managing intensive respiratory treatments and patient transport. Deliver expert care within the scope of your professional license while collaborating closely with healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Administer physician-prescribed respiratory treatments using invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment, oxygen delivery, aerosol, and nebulizer devices. Conduct chest physiotherapy, patient suctioning (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal), and tracheostomy care including emergency and routine tube management. Perform diagnostic and monitoring procedures including 12-Lead EKGs, arrhythmia recognition, oximetry, capnography, pulmonary function studies, and review chest x-rays. Assist with respiratory-related procedures such as bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomy, chest tube placement, and pleural drainage. Perform arterial punctures to assess ventilation efficiency and carry out cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS standards. Set up, maintain, and operate mechanical ventilators; assist with equipment maintenance and preventive repairs. Accurately document treatment details, patient responses, and therapy efficiency, communicating findings with physicians and during shift handovers. Comply with laboratory policies for specimen handling and quality control when applicable. Desired Qualifications: Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential. Experience with mechanical ventilation in acute care environments. Proficiency in advanced respiratory procedures and emergency interventions. Strong communication and documentation skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
