Work Experience: Entry-Level (Foundational) Work Experience Description: Suitable for students with basic foundational knowledge and little to no practical experience, ideal for freshmen or sophomores who have completed only introductory courses. ᅟ Department Islands of Tahiti Position Scope * Provides cultural information through demonstrations and lectures, and teaches songs, dances, crafts, games and cultural phrases to guests. * Learns how to create, maintain and/or do repairs of moderate difficulty on cultural artifacts, buildings, and props using a variety of equipment and materials. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the manager. Required Qualifications * Good health and have a voice that can endure up to four hours of speaking in any given time frame * Capable of moving freely among the guests and be capable of a full range body movement. * Able to communicate in English. * Know the basics of playing the ukulele. * Look Polynesian. Preferred Qualifications * Knowledgeable about the culture being represented. * Able to speak the language of the culture being represented. * Prior work experience helpful but not necessary. Must attach resume and current semester class schedule (weekly view). Base Rate Per Hour $16.00 Work Schedule 19 hours (TBD) Approximate starting hourly rate: $14.00 - $16.00 The wage offered could be above or below range based on education and experience as it relates to the job description. ᅟ * Must exemplify the university Honor Code, including the Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations * Preference will be given to students who can work during academic breaks
