Job Description

Facilities& Transportation SpecialistThe Facilities and Transportation Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safe, clean, compliant, and well-maintained operation of multiple locations. This role oversees daily facility operations, supervises janitorial staff, coordinates and performs basic facility maintenance and repairs, manages transportation and meal delivery services, and ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. The position requires strong organizational and time management skills, hands-on maintenance capability, and the ability to manage multiple sites efficiently.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSTransportation & Bus ServicesCoordinate maintenance, registration, cleanliness, and compliance of agency-owned vehiclesPlan and implement bus routes in collaboration with program leadershipServe as liaison with contracted transportation providers and driversMonitor transportation compliance, conduct route observations, and support driver schedulingProvide transportation-related training and ensure field trip transportation complianceFacilities MaintenanceServe as primary contact for facility issues and emergenciesCoordinate repairs, inspections, and maintenance with vendors and contractorsPerform or coordinate basic maintenance (plumbing, electrical, painting, hardware, furniture, and grounds upkeep)Track repairs and communicate maintenance updates with Center DirectorsSupervision & Janitorial ServicesDirectly supervise janitorial staff across multiple locationsSchedule coverage, monitor cleaning standards, and conduct deep cleaning as neededManage janitorial supplies, equipment, and safety of cleaning operationsConduct performance evaluations, team meetings, and staff supportCompliance & SafetyConduct routine safety, sanitation, and facility compliance inspectionsSupport compliance with OSHA, fire safety, food safety, licensing, and accessibility requirementsAssist with inspections, corrective action plans, and promote a culture of safetyCenter Delivery & LogisticsDeliver mail, meals, supplies, and maintenance items to all centersTransport lunches and other materials safely and on scheduleSupport additional delivery needs as requested by leadershipRecordkeeping & ReportingMaintain accurate transportation, maintenance, and safety recordsComplete required reports, drills, and documentation on a monthly basisCommunication & Work PracticesCommunicate regularly with supervisors, leadership, and center staffDemonstrate reliability, initiative, professionalism, and commitment to KCI's missionParticipate in trainings, meetings, and continuous professional developmentMARGINAL FUNCTIONSPerform other assignments as requested by supervisory staff Participate in planning or self-assessment process as directedPosition InformationReports to: Education, Facilities and Licensing Program ManagerSupervises: Janitorial StaffWork Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00am-4:00pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch break. This position requires flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work to ensure facilities are maintained.Requirements:High School Diploma/GED - prior supervisory experience preferred but not requiredDriver's License (Requires access to personal vehicle that is insured for purposes of delivery when agency owned vehicle is not available. Must provide proof of insurance twice a year.)Requires occasional check of driving history to assure good drivingPrefer: Bi-lingual (fluent written and verbal)Starting Salary: HSD/GED +12 months related experience: $21.85AA or 2 years related experience: $24.04BA or 4 years related experience: $26.44Equivalent experience in a related field may be considered in lieu of formal education requirements.There is a 10-step wage scale built into this position that occurs annually.
