Iowa Central Community College Dental Hygiene seeks a licensed dentist to fill a part-time clinic position. It is required that a dentist is present in the dental hygiene clinic while the students are providing dental hygiene services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES/STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE * The Dental Hygiene Clinic Dentist is responsible for supervision of dental hygiene students during clinic sessions. * Supervision of the activities of the dental hygiene students during clinic sessions at Iowa Central Dental Hygiene Clinic. * Provide comprehensive examinations to the clients of the Iowa Central Community College Dental Hygiene Clinic * Provide prescriptions, referrals and consultative services as needed to the clients of the Iowa Central Dental Hygiene Clinic. * Contribute to the achievement of the Dental Hygiene department goals. * Provide additional leadership to the program. * Attend meetings as required by the Program and/or College. PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: * Be able and willing to represent the college in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current students, clients, suppliers and the community we serve. * Act professionally in the clinical setting. * Assume responsibility; deal effectively with problems, and exercise independent judgement when making decisions. * Establish and maintain good working relationships with students, colleagues, staff, administrators, and general public. * Possess strong human relation skills, being able to work with diverse personalities. * Be a creative, energetic, and self-motivated individual with demonstrated leadership and organizational skills. * Possess a basic knowledge of personal computers * Perform duties that are in compliance with current legal and ethical practices of the dental profession. * Demonstrate competencies and clinical skills appropriate to the practice of dentistry * Involve the student in the learning process. Must have three years of recent dental experience. Current dentist with Iowa license.
