The role of the Research Associate is to support the efforts of asset class research and manager due diligence. The duties include, but are not limited to, building investment manager searches, scheduling and taking minutes for regular Research meetings, collecting and analyzing data, attending investment manager meetings, and assisting research analysts with their responsibilities. The Research Associate is expected to work with all members of the Research team on both manager and capital markets research across the private equity asset class. The position requires the Research Associate to be organized, a good communicator, a team player, and possess a strong quantitative skillset.Responsibilities:Assist Research team members with generating reports and collecting data from eVestment, Bloomberg, FactSet, Pitchbook, and MSCI Private CapitalAssemble client education materialWrite reports/analysis on investment managers for internal and client useAnalyze overall market factors influencing the asset classesWrite position and research papers on the asset classesOrganize weekly agendas for Alternative IMC meetings and take and distribute meeting minutes each weekWork with asset class leads to build client-ready manager search deliverablesTrack weekly Research team meeting schedulesDevelop deep expertise regarding the firm's proprietary database, "the Hub"Assist the Marketing team with manager data related to pitches, RFPs, and other information requestsMaintain quarterly benchmark characteristicsServe as a resource for consultantsCompetencies for Success/Qualifications:Bachelor's degree with 1-3 years investment related experience in the financial service sectorStrong attention to detail and highly organized with ability to work independently to meet deadlinesAbility to multitask in a fast-paced environment and react to change positivelySolid knowledge of Microsoft Office; ability to quickly learn new software applicationsCritical thinking skills, a self-starter with excellent follow-up abilitiesProfessional communication and interpersonal skills$65,000 - $80,000 a yearThe starting salary offer will vary based on the applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
