Annapolis Area Christian School (AACS) is seeking a compassionate, organized, and mission-driven full-time School Nurse to join our team. The School Nurse reports directly to the Head of School and plays a vital role in supporting the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our students. About Annapolis Area Christian School Located in Annapolis, Maryland, AACS is a Christ-centered, college-preparatory school serving students from preschool through 12th grade. Position Summary The School Nurse oversees the daily health and wellness needs of students and staff, ensuring a safe and healthy school environment. This individual provides direct care, manages health policies and procedures, and serves as a trusted resource for students, parents, and faculty. Key Responsibilities • Provide direct nursing care to students and staff, including first aid, illness assessment, and emergency response• Administer medications and maintain accurate health records in compliance with Maryland state regulations• Develop and manage individualized health care plans (IHPs), emergency action plans (EAPs), and 504-related medical accommodations as needed• Monitor immunization compliance and maintain required documentation• Communicate effectively with parents, healthcare providers, faculty, and administration regarding student health concerns• Support health education initiatives and promote wellness within the school community• Maintain inventory and organization of medical supplies and equipment• Ensure adherence to school policies and state health guidelines• Provide medical oversight and on-site support for summer camps and school-sponsored summer programs• This position supports students across all AACS campuses Qualifications • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland (BSN preferred)• Prior pediatric, school nursing, or community health experience preferred• Current CPR/AED certification• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment• Commitment to the mission and statement of faith of Annapolis Area Christian School Personal & Professional Profile The ideal candidate will:• Demonstrate a caring and calm presence in all situations• Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff• Be proactive in promoting a culture of health and safety• Model Christian character and servant leadership Employment Details • Full-time, 12-month position• Reports directly to the Head of School or their designee• Travel between AACS campuses may be required Annapolis Area Christian School is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, employment practices, or other school-administered programs.
