Department: Cardiac Cath/EP LabShift: DayWorking Hours: 8 hour shifts with callSummary:The Cath Lab Procedure Tech is an on the job trained graduate of a certificate, degree, or post-secondary educational program in a health science field who can function proficiently in all technical aspects of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. Once trained, the Procedure Tech assists thecardiology team in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, and otherrelated procedures. The Cath Lab Procedure Tech performs a variety of duties including setup and operation of radiographic equipment, setup and operation of electrophysiologic and hemodynamic recording systems, and assisting physicians during diagnostic, interventional, structural, andperipheral catheterization procedures.Other information:• High school diploma or equivalent• 1 year experience in the medical field is preferred.• Possesses a post-secondary educational program certificate, or degree in a health sciencefield of ultrasound, respiratory therapy, nursing, or paramedic/EMT• American Heart Association ACLS required within 90 days of hire.• American Heart Association BLS Certification• Current RCIS, or must obtain RCIS at the completion of 1 year experience and 600 caseswithin 30 days after 1 year.• Current Arkansas Limited Radiology License, or in the process of obtaining Limited RadiologyLicense within 60 days of passing the RCIS test.• Basic EKG interpretation.• Basic knowledge of cardiac anatomy and pathophysiology.• Proficient computer skills.• High: Read and write English.• High: Ability to learn and use multiple imaging hemodynamic and medical record systems.This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
