Concordia University is needing an Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Health and Human Performance who wants to be a part of this mission. If you want to learn more about Concordia University, Nebraska, please visit Position Purpose: Responsibilities will include teaching at the undergraduate level, advising students and assisting in the development and execution of strategic initiatives for the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences and the Health and Human Performance Department at the University. This is a full-time position with full-time benefits package. Must be 19 years or older to apply. The preferred start date of this faculty position is January 2027 (Spring Semester) or at the latest July 2027 at the beginning of the 2027-28 Academic Year. Responsibilities: * Teach courses in health and human performance based on the needs of the department and the qualifications of the candidate. Preferred instructional assignments include courses within the majors of Exercise Science, Physical Education, and Public Health and Fitness. Outstanding candidates with a generalist background in health and human performance are encouraged to apply. * Engage in departmental planning, course and program assessment, curriculum development, student advising, and assistance with student recruitment and activities. * Support the growth of the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences and department through innovative ideas and leadership experiences. * Provide leadership for student internships and job opportunities including maintaining and establishing contacts in business and industry. * Actively pursue scholarly and academic research activities that are mutually beneficial. * Demonstrate a willingness to enthusiastically embrace the mission and vision of Concordia University, Nebraska. * Work with colleagues from multiple departments to serve the university. * Other faculty duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education- * Ph.D. or terminal degree in related field preferred. Candidates who have earned a master's and who agree to pursue a terminal degree will be considered. Experience- Appropriate successful experience in the workplace or in a classroom that will lead to successful university-level teaching and mentoring in an acceptable subset of the following areas: * Evidence of excellence in teaching, preferably at the community college or university level. * Desire to develop professional relationships with students in which the faculty member is seen as an instructor, mentor, and advisor. * A candidate who is an active Christian is required. Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod membership preferred. Proficiencies- * Proficient in the use of technology, software applications including Blackboard, Banner, and related applications, databases, spreadsheets, and word processing necessary for teaching. * Excellent presentation and communication skills. * Ability to juggle multiple tasks on sometimes short deadlines. Special Position Requirements: * Familiarity with higher education, curriculum planning, course development, assessment, best teaching, and administrative practices; or a record of excellence in teaching. * Able to communicate professionally with a diverse constituency both on and off campus. * Committed to an environment of encouragement, teamwork, and excellence within a Christian University. * Responsible for creating an environment that is consistent with the values of the University and fosters the development of students. Preferences: * Active membership in a Christian congregation is required. Lutheran Church Missouri Synod membership preferred.
