Position Type: Extended School Year/Special Education ParaprofessionalsDate Posted: 1/23/2026Location: Administrative CenterDate Available: 07/07/2026**THIS IS A SUMMER POSITION EMPLOYMENT IS SEASONAL AND TEMPORARY** Extended School Year - Special Education Paraprofessionals and Personal Care Assistants (Elementary and Secondary)PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Extended School Year (ESY) is a Special Education program for students with disabilities whose IEP team has determined, that in order to minimize substantial regression and reduce substantial recoupment time, a student is required to attend ESY. These services will be based upon the individual needs of the students per their IEP goals/objectives. PROGRAM SCHEDULE: The instructional hours for students up to 4 hours per day (8:00-12:00), 4 days per week, for 4 weeks from July 7, 2026 to July 30, 2026. Dependent on need, a student's hours could be modified.RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist the Special Education Teacher with the educational, physical, and emotional issues of special needs students, ensuring a safe, caring and learning environment.Assist students with classroom assignments, tests, activities, etc., ensuring students understand all assignments given by the teachers.Assist in developing and maintaining a positive classroom environment to encourage positive behavior from students.Oversee instructional activities as directed by the teacher and monitor results.Implement positive behavior support plan and monitor student progress as dictated by IEP need.Document and report relevant information regarding student progress, behavioral changes, or physical needs to the teacher as required.Maintain communication with the special education teacher.Perform clerical duties such as copying, typing, filing and etc.Ensure a safe environment conducive to learning.Perform other duties as assigned by the Special Education Teacher.Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent is necessaryMust be able to work with student(s)Previous experience with special needs student(s) preferredOther education/experience as accepted by the school board and administration
