**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** Day Shift **Description:** **Position Purpose:** This individual is responsible for obtaining and inputting information received for DME (Durable Medical Equipment) referrals and follow through for compliance. This person will serve as a resource for internal/external customers requesting MercyOne North Iowa DME services while collaborating with clinical staff regarding referrals. **What you will do:** + Receives and processesreferral information for allpotentialDME patientswhiledemonstratingexcellent customer service. + Performsinsurance verification forDME, priorauthorizationand follow-up. + Collaborates with clinicians for ongoing authorizationfora variety of insurances. + Accessespertinent patient health informationonpatientsand enters into the electronic medical record (EMR). + Receivescalls from customers and colleagues and triages to theappropriate disciplineifindicated. + Compiles the packet for newpatients to DMEandtransfersof care from other DME providers + Schedulespatient appointments forDMEdepartmentandassistswith scheduling/reschedulingassignmentsas needed. + Collects andtracksdata as requested andenters intospreadsheets. + Maintainsrequireddepartmentconfidentiality and abides by HIPPA regulations. + Provides competent patient care to the aboveindicatedpatient populations by obtaining and appropriately interpreting data, makingappropriate decisionsbased ondemonstratedknowledge of age-specific growth and development, and appropriately adapting proceduresand treatments. **** **Hours/Schedule:** + M-F 8- 4:30, no weekends, no holidays.
