Our Activities Director plays a central role in bringing joy, connection, and engagement to the people we serve.Position Summary:The Director of Activities is responsible for the planning, development, coordination, and implementation of a comprehensive activities program that supports the physical, emotional, social, cultural, spiritual, and recreational needs of our residents.This role is key to creating a vibrant, engaging environment that promotes quality of life, independence, and community within the facility.What You’ll Do:Develop and implement a monthly activities calendar tailored to resident interests and abilitiesPlan and lead individual and group activities that promote engagement and well-beingComplete and maintain resident activity assessments and care plans in accordance with regulatory requirementsEnsure compliance with federal guidelines (CMS) and Connecticut Department of Public Health regulationsSupervise, train, and support the activities staff and volunteersCoordinate special events, outings, and community partnershipsMaintain accurate documentation of participation and program effectivenessCollaborate with nursing, social services, and therapy teams to support resident-centered careManage department supplies, scheduling, and budgetWhat We’re Looking For:A Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) or certified Activities Professional, licensed or registered as required by the State of Connecticut and eligible for certification by a recognized accrediting bodyORAt least 1 year of experience in a social or recreational program within the last 5 years, including 1 full year in a resident activities program in a healthcare settingPreferred Qualifications:Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care environmentStrong leadership, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to develop creative, engaging programming for diverse populationsPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist with activity setup throughout the dayAbility to lift and carry supplies up to 25 lbsAbility to assist residents during activities as neededWhy Harbor Village?Supportive, team-oriented environmentOpportunity to lead with creativity and purposeA role where you can make a meaningful impact every dayThe chance to build connections and bring joy to residents and their families
