The Tribe does not have a reservation in the classic definition; rather, the Ponca Restoration Act defined its jurisdiction as a 'Service Delivery Area' comprised of 15 counties throughout parts of Nebraska, Iowa, and South Dakota. Within its Service Delivery Area, the Tribe offers a broad range of health, social, educational, and cultural services. More info about area: Duties:1. Provide primary and secondary preventative measure first and tertiary measures as a third priority in the practice of dentistry. Such services shall include, but not limited to the following: a. Emergency services: diagnosis and treatment of pain, infection, swelling, bleeding and trauma. b. Primary prevention to include oral health education, topical and systemic fluorides, periodontal prophylaxis, oral cancer screenings and dental exams, dental sealants as appropriate. c. Secondary prevention to include periodic examinations with radiographs, prompt treatment of oral lesions and compulsory exams. d. Basic oral services to include restorative, endodontics, oral surgery and space maintenance. e. Tertiary measures to include some molar endodontics, crown and bridge, removable complete and partial dentures, and mouth guards. 2. Employee shall provide supervision to dental support staff - including staff dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and receptionists. Participates in the hiring selections and dismissal process. Conducts staff reviews and if needed, training for growth and discipline actions. Works to increase # of patients and production numbers. Support financial stewardship. Orientates new staff. Conducts staff training and staff meetings. Works with CDO/DDC on implementing program goals. Runs and interrupts reports as needed. Manages the staffing scheduling. Handles patient concerns. 3. Employee shall work with health professions' schools and training programs to train dental residents, dental assistants or other ancillary dental staff as times and resources allow. Such activity may not impair the Ponca Dental Clinics timely treatment of patients. 4. Employee shall maintain adequate and current dental records. All files, charts, records, dental or otherwise generated by the employee during this employment are the property of the employer and stay in dental clinic. 5. Employee shall assist in development of the oral health care plan and for documenting quality improvement planning and results. 6. The dentist and the Chief Dental Officer/Deputy Dental Chief shall communicate regularly to coordinate areas of mutual concern including but not limited to the area of dental health planning, scheduling, staff etc. 7. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:Minimum: 1. License to practice dentistry in any state or U.S. territory with no restrictions. CPR certified. 2. Excellent written and oral communication skills. 3. Computer proficiency with dental software experience. 4. Valid driver's license and be insurable. 5. Successfully pass drug and alcohol testing, motor vehicle, education, character, and criminal background checks. 6. Knowledge of dental practice management software and imaging software. 7. Able and willing to travel. Preferred: 1. One, two is more ideal, years' experience working with Native Americans or Native American organizations. 2. Dental faculty or teaching experience beneficial to mentor in clinic. 3. One or more years' experience as a Dentist in the state of Nebraska or a reciprocal state/territory. 4.
