Title: Director of Nursery MinistriesStatus: Full time, Salary, exempt, ministry staffPurpose: To assist the Director of Calvary Kids in partnering with parents and assisting families to pursue life in Christ by providing organizational leadership to the Nursery Ministries (infants and toddlers)Relationships:Accountable to the Board of Elders through the Senior Pastor with direct supervision for their ministry area to Director of Calvary Kids. A member of the Ministry staff and appropriate ministry teams as assigned.Qualification: Educational qualifications require advanced degree (Children's Ministry or related field), preferably with Bible college background or Bible teaching experience or administrative experience over children's education, with local church ministry experienceA thorough knowledge of Scripture and its relevance to discipleshipGifts of leadership, administration, and pastor/teacher (shepherding and nurturing)Competency in Children's education and training and development of leaders and volunteersOrganizational abilities to manage a wide range of ministry needs and deadlines as well as good communication skills (written and verbal)An ability to be a team-player within the staff and lead teams of volunteersProtect the reputation and integrity of others through strict confidentiality. Demonstrate a high level of trustworthiness. Values and BeliefsMust be a professing Christian who affirms the Calvary Church doctrinal basis, vision and values, and philosophy of ministryMust regularly attend Calvary ChurchResponsibilities:One Sentence Job Description:Oversee Nursery ministries and shepherd staff by infusing them with the vision and values of Calvary Church so they can partner with parents in the spiritual development of Nursery aged children.LeadershipImplement, communicate, evaluate, and foster the vision for all programming for Nursery aged children in keeping with the overall vision and values of Calvary ChurchContinually inspire volunteers to value their role in the discipleship and life of every childDevelop and implement a recruitment strategy with CK TeamRecruit, train, and equip volunteers, ensuring they are prepared to carry out the vision of the ministryThrough modeling and intentional training, inspire key leaders in how to shepherd and encourage volunteer staffOversee classes through coordinators, and when needed manage classes without a coordinatorManage weekly staffing of classrooms including substitute volunteersConsistently evaluate, develop, and implement God-centered teaching curriculum for each ministry hourOversee and facilitate the implementation of Child Dedication Parent Class and Event alongside other staff members/ministriesSolve problems and think creatively (particularly related to staffing)Coordínate Calvary Kids' social media MinistryManagementOversee classroom organization, management, and assignments of children to groupsWith CK Team, foster an effective partnership with parents by providing training and resources while inspiring parents to be the primary disciplers of their childrenInvolvement in special events for Nursery children and/or special events for Calvary Kids as directed by Director of Calvary KidsDirect the partnership between parents and Nursery team to help children who are experiencing difficulties (I.E. separation anxiety, illness, or discipline challenges)Update classroom equipment, order supplies, and maintain Nursery budget Coordinate use of Nursery facility with other ministries or outside groupsServe in other areas of Calvary Kids as requested by Director of Calvary KidsGeneral Ministry Staff ResponsibilitiesStrive to uphold the Staff CommitmentCollaborate with the Calvary Kids Ministries Team in developing goals, budgets, reports and evaluations as requested by Supervisor, Senior Pastor or EldersStay current in cultural and ministry trends and biblical skills through professional developmentMaintain a regular schedule by balancing time with people, study of God's Word, and administrative oversightBe involved and invested in appropriate staff meetings and staff eventsDevelop and maintain job proceduresBe an active participant of Calvary Church's corporate worship servicePray for the ministry of the churchTeach as opportunity arisesServe in other areas as requested by the Senior PastorWork Schedule and Time AllotmentWork schedule: full-time, flexible related to programs and projects.Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday PM ministry responsibilitiesTo be managed and accounted for in cooperation with designated supervisor.Physical and Mental RequirementsLight physical work requirements (lifting 20-30 lbs.), sitting, prolonged standing, potential reaching, climbing, prolonged positioning under hot bright lights, occasionally outside in differing weather conditions and prolonged looking at monitors and computer screens and operating a mouse and keyboard. Creative thinking, conceptual, collaborative, and listening skills. Must be able to present ideas and allow for adoption, adaptation or elimination of those ideas.
